On this adventure I went from Tacoma out to Aberdeen and took Hwy 101 north and around the Olympic Peninsula of WA state, seeing the natural wonders, exploring places and looking for future campsites.
One unique factor on this trip was the smoke from the fires in British Columbia created a constant high haze in the atmosphere, causing a bit of sun blockage and temperature decrease...so it was around 60-75 degrees mostly until I got further south around Bremerton WA.
Highlights of this venture were seeing a world record Sitka Spruce, visiting Forks WA (Alas no sparkly vampires were spotted), the HUGE driftwood logs and sunset at Rialto beach, camping overnight at Mora campground, standing at the tip of the NW U.S. on the Makah Reservation looking out at Tatoosh Island at Cape Flattery and the unexpected awesome beauty of Lake Crescent (last pic below).
